President’s Message 10/23/15
There is a Yiddish saying that proclaims; “You cannot make Shabbat by yourself.” The point is we need other Jews around us to live a Jewish life. Jewish life involves community and the place where Jews connect with each other is the local Synagogue.
That is why it is so important to support Congregation B’nai Israel. This is the gathering place for our community. It is exciting for me to enter our Synagogue and see the life and activity. We have so many activities and events that there should be something for everyone. If there is something you would like to be part of at B’nai Israel that we are not doing, please let me know. If you have ideas for new activities, please let me know. Congregation B’nai Israel is here to serve you, the Jewish Community.

We are a Spiritual community, an Educational community and a Social community. We offer Shabbat Services every Friday evening and Saturday morning. Observance of the Holidays, Sunday school, Hebrew School, adult education with Rabbi White and Sunday morning Torah discussions. Sisterhood and Hadassah, Israeli dancing and the Bagel café are some of our activities. Soon we will have our annual Chanukah Boutique and Interfaith Thanksgiving Service with St. Paul’s Church and the monthly Shabbat Seder is an event that everyone enjoys.
So come to B’nai Israel and be part of your community.
